FAQs

Are you just a walk in clinic?

When we opened several years ago, we operated as a walk-in clinic which led to overly long wait times to see the doctor. Now we STRONGLY recommend appointments. Visiting our website and clicking on Save My Spot will allow you to register and choose the time that works best for you and your pet. When in doubt, or if you have any questions, you can always call 207.569.0064 during our open hours. Walk-ins may be accepted on a limited basis and wait times for walk-in visits are not guaranteed.

Why do I have to call when I arrive with my pet?

As you enter our clinic, you will note that it is a smaller facility. For this reason, we try to limit the lobby traffic to decrease the noise related stress to the patients who are being examined and treated.

Why do I have to wait to see the doctor if I arrive on time to my appointment?

We are a small, privately owned clinic and we pride ourselves on focused, individual care. We do our very best to run on time and respect your time as well. However, we may run behind from time to time and ask your patience as we provide the appropriate care for each patient.

Why did you call me before my appointment?

Our team is trained in triage, and we aim to be sure that your needs are met. If the team feels that referral to one of the larger veterinary care facilities is warranted, they will reach out to you directly, ahead of your visit, to discuss the details of your concerns and ensure that you are on track to receive the most appropriate care possible for your pet.

Do you do surgeries and hospitalize pets, and/or will you update my pets' vaccines?

We do not do surgeries, nor do we hospitalize pets. We are strictly an outpatient clinic. Some situations may require sedation, such as quill removal, and those cases are triaged on a case-by-case basis (see above question). As for vaccines, we do provide Rabies boosters for appropriate situations, but we encourage you to continue long term preventative care with your family veterinarian.

Do you treat exotics?

At this time, we do care for small mammals only. We are not able to treat birds, reptiles or livestock. If you have one of these pets and you are in need of assistance, please call the office and our team can provide some additional resources.

Can I set up a payment plan?

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check (with valid ID), all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Andorid Pay, Care Credit and Scratch Pay. We also participate in Trupanion Direct for Trupanion enrolled pets. We are happy to offer estimates for any recommended treatments and medications.
